Libs & Ron Paul Supporters, Are You With Me?

As I do as a matter of course, I'm reading my hero, Thomas Sowell's most recent article here on Townhall. After ingesting yet another ingenious article, I decided to look at the comments section to see what others thought about the article. After carefully reading the comments, here is a brief summary of what the lefties and (some) Ron Paul Supporters posted:

        1.    We need to get out of Iraq and quit supporting one of our only true allies in the Middle East. We have no business interfering in their affairs. After all, they're all the way over there, and we're all the way over here. We need to bring our troops home so they can protect our borders.

        2.    We caused 9/11 because of our support of Israel.

        3.    President Bush is incompetent because he can't beat a ragtag bunch of "freedom fighters" despite our tremendous military advantage.

        4.    When Democrats take over, they will gradually pull out our troops, but we're not going to leave. We're going to keep just enough of our troops in Iraq to advise the Iraqis on how to defend themselves.

Based on the foregoing, I am now convinced that we should adopt these points as our new foreign policy. And in the spirit of formulating a bold, new foreign policy for the future of America, please allow me to add the following:

        1.    We should discontinue our support of Israel immediately. After all, when it gets too hard to be loyal to our allies, we should just bail on them. When we do, I just know countries like Japan will continue to trust us to protect them from rogue nations like North Korea. They won't view the United States as a superpower in decline and decide to take matters into their own hands and go nuclear. Our actions won't result in a new worldwide arms race. And again, if it does, who cares? They are all the way over there, and we are all the way over here. It's not going to affect us in the slightest.

        2.    Oh, yeah, and when we pull our troops out of Iraq and leave a comparatively small band of "advisors" to assist their fledgling government in defending itself, Americans will stop dying over there.

        3.    President Bush is incompetent because, despite the technological and military superiority of the United States, he can't beat seem to defeat a ragtag bunch of "freedom fighters" we call "terrorists." As such, I advocate that the President immediately use the full force of our military to quell this insurgency. But, if President Bush kills a single innocent in the process of unleashing Hades in Iraq, then he should be brought up on war crimes charges and shipped to the Hague for trial. After all, neither Democrats FDR nor Truman killed any civilians during World War II.

        4.    The Iraqi government won't turn on us when we bail and ally themselves with Iran.

        5.    Should the Iraqis decide to stand on their own, I'm sure Iran won't interfere.  After all, they're not interfering now. They are not now, nor will they continue, arming insurgents and terrorists to overthrow the government in an attempt to establish a Caliphate. Innocents won't die on a massive scale.

        6.    Oil will be cheap and plentiful when we pull out of Iraq because the Middle East won't see our "redeployment" to Okinawa as a sign of weakness and they will be more than willing to provide the United States with affordable oil. Our economy won't suffer one bit if we "redeploy."

        7.    When we "redeploy," Al Qaieda won't declare victory over the United States and use our "redeployment" as a recruiting tool. After all, UBL didn't do that when former President Clinton "redeployed" from Mogadishu. And like Spain, once we "redeploy" our troops, we certainly won't be hit again.

        8.    Sunnis and Shiites won't slaughter each other in a manner reminiscent of the killing fields of Cambodia when we pull out of Iraq. And if they do, who cares? We only care about deaths when we can use them to move our anti-war agenda forward. Just like in Vietnam.

        9.    Although the border issue is a LEGITIMATE ISSUE, I'm sure that President Paul will have no problem convincing Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to protect our borders once we withdraw our troops from Iraq. After all, we all know this Congress will act responsibly and use the money being spent in Iraq to secure our borders. Just look at the progress they have made with stopping the "culture of corruption" and the practice of earmarking since they've taken power.

So tell me, Libs and Paul supporters, do you agree with me now that I have embraced your premise that we should get out of Iraq?
